Through this mission trip, I realised that I am very fortunate to have many things that the people in Roi-et do not have. And in Laos, I noticed the Christians there have no pastors to lead them, yet they are still faithful to God. Indeed, I am blessed by this mission trip.

In Laos, the villagers’ houses are made of wooden planks which looked like tree houses, and they have to climb up steep and narrow ladders made of wood. When night falls, the whole village is in darkness with very little electricity. In Singapore, we have elevators to bring us to our homes. I thank God for giving me such a nice home to live in.
In Roi-et church, Malcolm and I met two friends. Their nicknames are Baseball and Doraemon. It was hard to understand each other because of language barrier, yet through gestures we were able to hit it off perfectly over our short stay. I have learnt not to complain unnecessary as I am already so blessed by God.

I thank God for giving me a chance to visit Thailand and Laos. In Roi-et, when we visited the blind school, I felt the strong presence of God touching me the moment I walked into that place till the time I left. God filled my heart with love and concern towards the blind and I was eager to pray for them.
In Laos, the experience was different from Roi-et. I felt that the Christians in Laos need more foreign support to strengthen their faith. I pray that God will open up more opportunities for our members to visit these places.

We were awed by Ps Arn’s dedication to God’s kingdom. He opens a kindergarten at Khon Kaen, a 90 mins drive away from his church. His faith in God’s provision for the kindergarten and his new house in Khon Kaen are deep-seated.
Ps. Arn’s fervor for God’s work is highly inspiring for those of us who are complacent in our daily life, to contribute our services or funds, so that the kindergarten can raise up a God-fearing next generation. Let’s put our best foot forward and do our part – the easy part – donations.
